ARTIST DUO BIOGRAPHY
The Duo was founded for emphasize a group and a repertoire until now not too well known in Europe, but most popular in the “world” and “latina” music, like clarinet and guitar.
Giovanni Lanzini studied in Florence at the National Conservatory of Music. At the age of 18, he graduated with a diploma in clarinet. Later on he completed his musical studies with great musicians like Karl Leister (Berliner Philarmoniker), Primo Borali (Conservatory of Milan) and Vincenzo Mariozzi (Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome).
Fabio Montomoli received a diploma with full marks at the “S.Cecilia” Conservatoire in Rome with the music master Carlo Carfagna. He attends the regular course at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with the music masters Eliot Fisk and Joaquin Clerch Diaz.
For several years the Duo started to play in many important musical associations and Festivals in Italy and abroad (France, Germany, Suisse,, Austria, Croatia, Sweden, Romania, Lebanon, Greece, Spain, Russia, Malta, Japan, etc.) with great success and very good reviews.
Giovanni Lanzini & Fabio Montomoli have made broadcast and televisions recordings for the italian national broadcasting radio and television (RAI1, RAI2, RAI3), Vatican Radio, Croatian National Broadcast, and have recorded several Compact-Disc of classic and contemporary music for EMI Classic, Bongiovanni, Miki-Mako, Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, Iktius, Avvenimenti, San Paolo Audiovisivi, EMA Records, SaM and M.A.P.
The Giovanni Lanzini & Fabio Montomoli Duo studied the evolution of clarinet and guitar history in the chamber music and today have a big repertoire ranging from european “hausmusik” of XIX century until the most important latinos composers.
A special attention is reserved by the Duo to the italian popular repertoire (ranging from Neapolitans songs to the most important italian film-music). Giovanni Lanzini & Fabio Montomoli dedicated to this programme their last Compact Disc.
